Near the end of the lunar month means spring tide is coming, thus the tide will be higher and the current is stronger too. In this area around spring tide, the current will uproot and washed lots of seaweeds. It is very common that get lots of seaweed while retrieving the lines.
During these time and this area if you feel and see your light rod's line got stuck, chances are the hook has gathered a large cluster of seaweeds and the rod and reel is not able to handle the load. What you can do is dry your hands before grabbing the line and slowly pull the line back.
